Who are we as a church?

Heritage Baptist has a strong foundation of Christ-centered worship. We are a unique congregation full of love for people and God. We practice traditional worship with a modern and Ecumenical twist. We sing hymns, contemporary chorus and the Doxology; we pray the Lord’s prayer together. It’s not uncommon for our congregation to take part in responsive readings and we are often led in worship by members of the congregation. We embrace the value of men, women and children both in worship and leadership.

What should I wear?

On any given Sunday you will find people wearing anything from jeans to suits, dresses and everything in between. We gather together to worship and fellowship, and we can do that no matter what type of clothes you’re in.

What do you have for my children and youth?

We long for all ages to find connection points into our church community that help deepen their faith. We believe how we talk about God to children is important! THe ultimate goal is for children to understand that they are loved by God! We do not believe in the fear based approach to teaching faith. Church should be a child’s favorite place to be. We want them form lasting relationships with teachers, friends and adults in the congregation. Children and youth take part in leadership roles at Heritage. You will find children reading the scriptures passages in worship, on the welcome team, playing musical instruments for special music. Children and youth are essential to who we are as a church body.

Nursery Care (Infant through Pre-K) is available both Sunday morning during Sunday School (9:15am) and during our Worship Service (10:30am).

School Age (Kinder through High School) - engaging small group classes (Sunday School) are offered starting at 9:15am.

*All teachers/workers within children's classes have passed a yearly background check and have participated in church-based training.

What if I’m not Baptist?

Then you will fit right in! One of the great strengths of our church is the variety of denominational backgrounds of our people. We have individuals from a variety of denominational backgrounds that have chosen to make Heritage their spiritual home. We love the creativity and intentionality it brings to our church. We can all learn from each other. We believe strongly that God calls us to be the Church - and with that does not mean uniformity in everything.

People from various denominational backgrounds, including Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, the United Church of Christ, and non-denominational have chosen to make Heritage their spiritual home. We don’t believe you have to agree with us about everything in order to worship God alongside us.
